Professor Chan Ling Ling graduated from the National University of Singapore, and completed local Diagnostic Radiology specialist training and clinical neuroradiology fellowship at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston Methodist and Texas Children Hospitals in Houston, Texas.
Professor Chan is a Senior Consultant in Diagnostic Radiology, Singapore General Hospital (SGH), and a Professor at the Radiological Sciences and Neuroscience Academic Programmes, SingHealth-Duke-NUS. Over the years, Dr Chan has distinguished herself as a Neuroradiologist by helming regular Neurology, Neurosurgery, Orbital X-Ray Conferences and various Tumour Boards on campus.
She works closely with the clinical team, translating novel and cutting-edge neuroimaging techniques to address clinical problems. Professor Chan was Director of Clinical Services and Neuroradiology in Diagnostic Radiology, and its current Research Director. Professor Chan is a Clinician Scientist Senior Investigator Awardee and leads a Neuroimaging research programme focusing on chronic neurodegenerative disorders. Additionally, she has more than 170 peer-reviewed publications in refereed journals, 2728 citations, an H index of 32, and has won 41 scientific awards either as PI or supervisor.
Professor Chan is passionate about teaching and research, having mentored over 70 junior staff and local and international students. Additionally, she is an Examiner at the annual MMed – FRCR 2B Examinations. She serves on the Research Training Review Panel under the Ministry of Health, SGH Grant Review Committee, Editorial Board of the Annals Academy of Medicine (Singapore), Singapore Radiological Society, and Singapore Chapter of the ISMRM. Professor Chan is also the Scientific Chair of the Asian-Oceanian Congress of Neuroradiology 2023.
